Can Humans Live Forever? | Naveen Jain

Can humans live forever? Billionaire Naveen Jain, my guest on the Growth Mindset University podcast, thinks so.

Imagine if being "old" becomes a thing of the past.

There is a possibility that nanobots that constantly repair us and have the ability to kill cancerous tumors by cutting off their blood supply will be flowing through our body by 2030.

Naveen argues, with these nanobots, our bodies will be just as healthy as they were in the teenage years throughout the lifespan.

By replacing and restoring our bodies perpetually, we could (theoretically) live forever.

Living forever sounds like a great idea, but it comes with a new set of challenges.

Mark Manson (episode 99 of GMU) writes in his new book that living forever could be a psychological disaster.

"For one, if you remove death, you remove any scarcity from life. And if you remove scarcity, you remove the ability to determine value. Everything will seem equally good or bad, equally worthy or unworthy of your time and attention, because . . . well, you would have infinite time and attention. You could spend a hundred years watching the same TV show, and it wouldn’t matter ... You could justify every indulgence, every diversion, with a simple 'Well, it’s not like it’s going to kill me,' and get on with it."

I guess, then, the question becomes, "Should we live forever?"
