The Subtle Art of Not Giving a Fuck | Book Review

I want to start sharing what I'm reading with you all.I've been hearing about this book for a while and I finally put it on my up next list. I finished it this morning. It was an awesome, quick, easy read. I found myself laughing out loud by myself at some points and emotionally touched at others. Mark Manson is too real. For a completely new and fresh perspective apart from every other self-help book, I'd recommend this. This is a must-read.

My top 3 takeaways:

  1. The "Do Something" Principle - Don't just sit there. Do something. The answers will follow. Action isn't just the effect of motivation; it's also the cause of it.
  2. The Backwards Law - The more we pursue feeling better, the less satisfied we become because pursuing something only reinforces what we lack.
  3. Defining Good and Bad Values - Good values are reality-based, socially constructive, immediate and controllable. Honesty is a good value. Bad values are superstitious, socially destructive, and not immediate or controllable. Popularity is a bad value.

I had so many great takeaways from this book and I could write all day about it, but it would be much more beneficial to you and me if you grabbed a copy over on Amazon.Below is an inspirational/educational podcast interview of Mark discussing the book with Lewis Howes.
